Thursday, September 9th, 1982: Hit Parade: Foley Gets Cycle
New York (G)'s Tom Foley went 4-for-4 in today's game and hit for the cycle, collecting all four types of hits and 1 RBIs. But his effort could not overcome the Los Angeles Devil Dogs, who won the game 8-6.

"I didn't really think about it at the time, although after the third hit, it snuck into my mind," Foley told reporters. "The crowd certainly let me know in that last at-bat, that I was going for the cycle... and I was able to make solid contact and get it. In the end the only thing that matters is that we lost," Foley added.

T. Foley singled in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off L. Andersen in the 8th.

Foley is currently hitting at a .316 pace with 6 home runs, 22 RBIs and has scored 24 times.

Wednesday, September 1st, 1982: AL Selects Rookie Star of the Month
Darryl Strawberry was toddling around on his tricycle when some of the guys he's playing against were in their prime, but the 20-year-old right fielder definitely knows how to get to first, second or beyond. Today he was chosen August's American League Rookie of the Month for his remarkable month of hitting.

In 28 games Strawberry batted .304 for New York (G), slapping 31 hits in 102 at-bats with 10 home runs, drove in 18 runs and scored 17 times.
