No one hit National League pitching at a better clip than Bradford's Chuck Klein in 1982. Playing in 158 games this year's batting champ registered a .370 average with 220 hits, 31 home runs and 121 RBIs.

 | Saturday, October 2nd, 1982: League Suspends Dawson and Hinds for Brawl
When fights happen, suspensions are not far behind. That axiom was held to be true today when Battle Creek's Andre Dawson and Bradford's Sam Hinds were given a temporary vacation from the game, courtesy of the league commissioner's office.
They both were suspended for 2 games for their actions in a recent ruckus between the two teams. Both benches cleared when Dawson charged Hinds.
Both players have accepted their fate and will begin serving their suspensions immediately. Neither would talk to reporters about the confrontation.
So far this year Dawson is batting .252 with 24 home runs.
Hinds's record this year is 0-and-2 with no saves and a 3.21 ERA. He has given up 39 hits in 42 innings with 37 strikeouts.
